Hosting Videos on Windows Azure

clock February 2, 2010 08:42 by author jlc
"With Silverlight Live Streaming (silverlight.live.com) being discontinued, I thought I’d write up the detailed steps required to host videos using Windows Azure. Since many people who host videos using Silverlight Live Streaming are not technical or development-inclined and rely on the Expression Encoder and Windows Live Writer plug-ins to automate the publishing process, I wrote these posts to suit that audience. In other words, if you can read, understand and follow the steps below, you will be able to host videos on Windows Azure. So don’t be put off by the length and wordiness of these posts – I tried to be explicit to the point of stating the obvious!"

New IIS Media Services 3.0

clock October 13, 2009 09:48 by author jlc
"We just released IIS Media Services 3.0, a set of extensions for Internet Information Services 7 (IIS) that provide an integrated HTTP-based media delivery platform. This includes the new IIS Live Smooth Streaming and the separate IIS Advanced Logging package.

In addition, we released the beta of the Smooth Streaming Player Development Kit, which allows developers to easily create Smooth Streaming experiences using Silverlight. Supported features include PlayReady, DVR controls, instant replay, slow motion, multiple camera angles, alternate audio tracks, content protection, ad integration, in-stream data feeds, and more. "

Expression Encoder 2 SDK

clock June 11, 2008 02:26 by author jlc

public static void MyEncoder( string video_in,string output_dir )
{

MediaItem mediaItem = new MediaItem(video_in);
mediaItem.VideoProfile = VideoProfiles.Streaming256kDSL;

Job job = new Job();
job.MediaItems.Add(mediaItem);
job.OutputDirectory = output_dir;
job.EncodeProgress += new EventHandler(OnProgress);

job.CreateSubfolder = false;
job.Encode();

}

static void OnProgress(object sender, EncodeProgressEventArgs e)
{
Console.WriteLine(e.Progress);
}

Como podem ver, é bastante simples para começar a codificar.
